Lift includes a large variety of classes, many of which are done seated and do not involve walking.
For individuals that can walk very little or cannot walk at all that do want to build up their endurance, we recommend getting a "floor peddler" (see example below).
You can use the floor peddler similarly to a stationary bike and follow along using the floor peddler during our endurance and interval walking classes to help build up strength and stamina.
If you are unable to use your legs, you can also place the floor peddler on a table and use it similarly to an arm bike and follow along using the floor peddler during our endurance and interval walking classes to help build up strength and stamina.
We also encourage people to use a walker or other support as recommended by their healthcare provider when participating in Lift walking classes.
For endurance work, you can get a peddler and use it as an arm bike by placing it on a table on top of some books. You can follow along with endurance and interval walking classes using your "arm bike" instead! This will still get your heart rate up without you needing to walk. We would also recommend focusing on the breathing classes, meditation, and relaxation classes.
